I was looking at a subdivision opportunity today and was reminded of that. You have to verify everything they're telling you. It may not be out of malice. But it may also be that they are trying to dump a stinky hot potato on you. Don't be the stinky hot potato holder. You're too smart for that. This article gives you a good sense for what the rezoning process is like in that area and how contentious it could be if you don't take the right steps to garner community support. Look at the concessions the owner had to make to get even this far in the process. My bet is it still gets approved!
