I was looking at a subdivision opportunity today and was reminded of that. You have to verify everything they're telling you. It may not be out of malice. But it may also be that they are trying to dump a stinky hot potato on you. Don't be the stinky hot potato holder. You're too smart for that. And don't be that person that intentionally drops stinky hot potatoes on other people as part of your day to day business. You're better than that. It will catch up with you. As it should!

In this example, the owner needs to rezone an adjacent parcel to expand his existing mobile home park to a newly acquired lot. This article gives you a good sense for what the rezoning process is like in that area and how contentious it could be if you don't take the right steps to garner community support. Look at the concessions the owner had to make to get even this far in the process. My bet is it still gets approved!
